Nicola Girotti is the Design Manager overseeing the UI/UX team within Pininfarina’s business unit, specializing in automotive and other product designs.
Nicola Girotti is the head of a team of over 20 designers, working across a diverse range of design fields, including aviation, rail, marine, industrial products, machinery, and graphic design.
Prior to this, Nicola Girotti was Design Manager at MOTOROLA Solutions in Copenhagen and worked at Decathlon in France. These experiences helped him gain expertise in different research methods, collaborate with business units to find new market opportunities, and shape future product portfolios.
MY EXPERIENCE
Earlier in his career, Nicola was appointed as the first Lead Designer at Cisco’s European Design Center. In this role, he was entrusted with overseeing the full product design process—from the initial research phase and user experience development to the meticulous application of final design details.
Nicola further expanded his design expertise during a five-year tenure at Attivo Creative Resources, where he developed over 60 products, spanning sports equipment, garden tools, technical devices, and sails.
Nicola began his career as a junior designer at the LEGO Concept Lab, where he first refined his skills in the world of design.
Pininfarina and Higold unveiled the Onda outdoor furniture collection at the Spoga Fair in Cologne. Designed to blend effortlessly into diverse environments while adding a unique touch, Onda was created for outdoor spaces. Inspired by the fluidity and elegance of ocean waves, the Pininfarina design team drew on the dynamic shape of a wave that forms a hollow or tubular structure (known as "onda" in Italian).
Evoking the wing—an iconic symbol of both lightness and strength—the designers behind the WING collection sought to capture the delicate balance between tangible lightness and its perception.
“Armonia" was designed to extend the elegance of interior spaces into the outdoors, creating a seamless and refined living experience. The design concept revolves around the interplay of contrasting elements, which serves as the core of this new sofa’s aesthetic.
